When x-rays moved into the digital age, the amount of radiation required to take an image went down significantly. In some cases, the radiation went down by 90%. Dental x-rays have always been among the lowest radiation dosage x-rays in medicine. Now that digital technology is available, the radiation dosage is even lower.
